First thing I got was a sport cap from Pace, just like this one…. http://www.amazon.com/Pace-Classic-Cycling-Jalapeno-Black/dp/B001TIBQIM/ref=sr_1_5?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1313425699&sr=1-5 I like how small it folds down to and should be very easy to carry on rides so my helmet head gets hidden. The next thing I bought was a mirror for my helmet like this one… http://www.amazon.com/Cycleaware-Reflex-Bicycle-Helmet-Mirror/dp/B00012343C . I had a mirror on my handlebar but I am very used to the helmet seems more natural. And the third thing I bought, which I haven’t received yet is Sigma BC 1609 Cadence Bicycle Speedometer, which is this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0030CHBM0 It seems to be one of the better ones for the price and what it offers, temperature all kinds of timing functions, distance functions, and even cadence and some trip functionality, which I need to look at in more detail because it sounds like it could be very interesting. I also like the fact it can mount on the handlebar or stem, it also received very good reviews so we shall see. I am looking forward to using the cadence stuff to see how well I do, and hopefully will help me shift better. Will let you know how it goes at a later time.

I went to Ocean City this past weekend and happened to stop by the Sea Shell Shop in Rehoboth Beach, DE, the one by the outlets. My youngest son wanted to play putt-putt, of course, but this time we decided to give in. I wasn’t expecting much, but honestly it was one of the better games of mini-golf I have ever played, the layout was fairly decent, the atmosphere was really quite nice, it had lots of plants, two waterfalls, and some very neat environment based trick shots that were quite neat. It cost $7 per person to play, which is really kind of cheap compared to the overly expensive ones in Ocean City. So if you have a couple of hours to kill and have a younger child, maybe around 12-13 years, or even a date that you want to have something to do, since there are lots of places to eat either before or afterwards.

I know I have mentioned before I am a Windows Mobile user from a long time ago, back when WM5 was big and I had a Pantech Flip Phone that was a smartphone and have loved it ever since. Well, I have also mentioned that I am a WP7 convert now as well and one of the apps I used in WM6.1 was one of the apps that pushed me to go with WP7. It is called TrackMe and is a GPS tracking app that connects either to the server they have set up for the users of the app or you can even set up your own server if you are so inclined, which of course I am. This app is free and can be grabbed from here… http://www.luisespinosa.com/trackme_eng.html as well as straight from the marketplpace in WP7 and works quite nicely. With the app you can either send the entries every few feet to the server providing almost real time updates or you can even store them all on your device and then upload them when you have time, this way you can save your battery, personally I like my family seeing my trip real time so they can see where I am while I am out, just in case. Another big positive about the app is it was developed by Luis Espinosa and then ported to WP7 by a developer named _LEM_ and both of them are very receptive to features you may want or need. The app will even run under a locked screen which is another big positive. This app also makes it so you can see your track on google earth if you are interested in that. So if you are looking for a way to track your excursions, whether they be walking, running, biking, or even driving this app may be a very good app to add to your phone so take a look at it.

Ok finally got the nerve up to finally take my shoes out for a ride and I must say, that after all of the worrying about falling over etc. it is not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. It almost feels natural to pull my shoes out of the cleats and get them to the road. Now I do realize they are on the easiest setting so that may have something to do with it, but for now I am pleasantly surprised at how it went. Now I need to start riding again, but I am working so much now that only leaves the weekends, so I need to prioritize it a bit more now.
